The Three Heads of Employment Tribunal Compensation

1. The Basic Award

A mathematical formula based strictly on age, completed years of service (max 20), and capped weekly pay. Equivalent to statutory redundancy pay.

2. The Compensatory Award

Reimburses actual net financial loss suffered as a result of the dismissal, including loss of wages, pension contributions, and fringe benefits.

3. ACAS Code 25% Uplift

If your employer unreasonably failed to follow the ACAS Code of Practice (no investigation, no written allegations, or no appeal), the tribunal can increase the award by up to 25%.
